if it had to happen – but why should it have to?

As anyone who pays attention in girl2
knows, Tatsumi‘s
family suffered the loss of one member recently. I could go on and
on about mortality here, but I am tired and I don’t really know
that this is the time.

I will say this, we were at a family gathering with them last weekend
and it was as nice as anyone could have asked for. Their family
is as close as any I have ever seen – and closer than most. On top
of that, these are good people – charitable and always willing to
help. I won’t go into much detail – it’s not my purpose to drag
their lives into public view but it was amazing how they could be
together as a group.

Her Grandfather was the recipient of a lot of very affectionate
attention, he smiled and laughed and spent a wonderful day with
his family… spread out before him across their generations from
small children to grown adults an excellent legacy. They told stories,
they sang together, he took a nap I know he enjoyed and they ate
some great food.

I was an amazing afternoon for them, and I am sure it was an incredible
day out for him.

Death is never a good thing, but if it has to happen then that
is surely among the best ways… quietly with the warm memory of such a
day out with all your family, loving and being loved, seeing first
hand how much you have created in the word and how much good you
have done.

I should be so lucky when my time comes.
