In looking around the network crammed into this little room I came to an astounding
realization. As cool as these boxes are I don’t really need all the CPU cycles.
What I NEED are the hard drives. In other words, now that we are living in a
Windows2000
Advanced Server world here I can think about putting in a real life file
server. I have 4 boxes that currently exist for no other reason than to share
their lame 2 IDE hard drives each.
In a perfect world this is where the computer fairly drops a system on us with
4 IDE busses, including 4 28GIG hard drives and 128 meg of ram please, while
you’re at it. Then I can unhook 4 of these CPU’s and get em ready to be retooled
as a 3D Studio Max render farm.
So if you love making people happy, including mostly
