I just flew in from the gym – and boy, are my arms tired!
Well, today was a long day. I spend a lot of time at Client X’s site
helping them solve their network/email problems. I like the people and the pay
is OK but I could really be happy working from home. Tatsumi
dropped by while I was working and I have to tell you she really is a treat to
see when she comes into a room.
I went to the gym before heading out for an evening meeting. I spent about 12
minutes on the treadmill then put some gloves on and went to work out on the
heavy bag. Kimiko did
the timing and I went 16 rounds of 30 seconds ‘on’ (punching and blocking) and
30 seconds ‘off’ (resting). It was a real eye-opener. I am in better shape than
I feared – but I need to work on this so I can get a feel for how my body moves
when it is tired.
I can pretty much barely move my arms. My abs hurt too ๐
So, what did I learn? That I will quickly tire if every punch is thrown full
force. By the end I was figuring out how to conserve energy with small jabs and
so on.
This is crucial information.
Ah well, off to sleep.
