Rolling the ball…

Put me in!

Well, that sucks. I know, we had discussed the possibility I might have to vacate the house/office we have been renting, but it is still really hard to actually send the letter ya know? I owe the guy a fair bit of cash, basically 1,500 x 3 or $4,500. I think he has a month and a half security so call it 2,200 that he has… so I owe him $2,300 or so. That is a very approximate number.

Anyway, feel free to continue watching the train wreck, I have included the entire text of my email to my landlord in this post.

Oh, to the little birdie who gave me the gift of security (internet security that is) thank you, it is really nice to have that off my mind while all this is going on. Your a great friend and hopefully someday I can do something to help you.

A big shout out to all those who are out there kicking ass. The image here shows an [[wp:RAF]] member keeping watch while his mates play [[wp:cricket]]. Those wacky Brit’s 🙂

Letter sent to my landlord 03/26/3002 03:15:00

Dear _____,

Unfortunately, my discussions with my client did not go well. They have no funds for additional contract work (they haven’t been able to pay any significant amount for months) and I have had no luck securing other contract work for my firm, nor securing full time employment. Likewise, I have not found anyone willing to invest in my firm.

I hope you understand that this is not a turn of events I anticipated, until this happened I had fully expected to be in a position to make good on my debt to you in the extremely near future.

What I would like for you to do is please immediately make use of the security funds in your possession. I am sure my inability to pay the rent these last months has caused you financial hardship and there is no reason for you to not make use of that money.

Though I have resumes out and am negotiating for several projects, at the moment I have no immediate prospects that would allow me to pay the expenses that would occur in the future. In other words, I simply cannot afford to stay and in good conscience can’t promise at this point things will get better soon.

It seems only fair then that I prepare to vacate as soon as I can. I can start to move stuff out and clean the house for you next week, so that you can hopefully begin renting it as soon as possible. I understand that I will almost certainly owe you April’s rent in order to give you notice.

I am attempting to borrow funds from my family in order to pay you the back rent I owe you immediately, I am unsure how successful I will be but I will keep you posted over the next day or so.

______, I hope you can accept my apologies for how this worked out. I am doing everything in my power to make sure I pay my debt to you as soon as I can. My intention in moving out is not because I don’t like the house, or because I want to cause you any problem… it is simply because it would be unfair of me to stay now that my situation means I would be continually incurring more and more debt with you.

I will know more about the loan by the end of the week and get back to you – I just wanted to let you know as soon as >I< knew what was going on.

Obviously please feel free to call me at ___.___.____ if you wish to talk about this voice or if you want to get together.
