Big screen, big concept…

The ticket…

I did it. I got out tonight with the [[girl2|girls]] to see Matrix: Revolutions and I have to tell you, I loved it. I think it was a well handled movie – and I think the series is amazing in it’s scope and vision. is it the deepest thing ever? Hell no. The vision is that of “the brothers”. Multimedia, multi-volume,  an expansive story arc – the works.

It goes without saying that the first Matrix was a minor life changing event for me. By that point the underpinnings for the project we call “heritage” had been with me for years – since I was 12 or so probably… but it was seeing The Matrix that (looking back on it) has pushed me in the direction of film. Between The Matrix trilogy and the Lord of the Rings trilogy my concept of what is possible in the feature film arena has dramtically changed. It is apparently possible to hold an audience and a studio through a truly epic story arc; this is a good thing.

While I love the other formats we have available to us including graphic novels, short animation/film, computer games and [[wp:MMORPG]]’s there is simply nothing currently like features to bring a vision to an audience. This realization has driven much of my work recently – and I can feel that I am on the right path.

Night!
