You know, the world is a place fool of crazy people. In history most of them lived, eat mud or talked to rocks on their own time and died with us ever having a chance to ridicule them properly. That is, other than the few truly inspired crackpots who managed to raise a huge army and attempt to murder a whole lot of people.
Thankfully the ‘net has changed all that… and I have the bookmarks to prove it. Read on for more about this stop on the insanity express.
For the moment, we will talk about [[wp:Gene_Ray|Gene Ray]], “The Greatest Thinker” on the planet. Gene has come up with something he calls the [[wp:Time_cube|Time Cube]] that he promotes on a seemingly endless series of websites, obviously including timecube.com. Others have taken up the call in seriousness and parody (it’s hard to tell which sometimes) creating a dazzling array of resources.

What is the Time Cube? Well, Gene has some problems with the idea of time and sunlight. Let me see if I can put it here…
- At any one moment in time the Earth has midnight, noon, sunset and sunrise.
- This means there are four “days” for every rotation of the Earth.
- Thus, time is a cube.
What might have been a fairly amusing little argument on an obscure message forum for people who like to debate odd theories turned into a lifelong obsession that spans the ‘net. Gene is wrong in so many levels but he won’t ever see that. When you add in a healthy does of some serious personality disorders (I couldn’t even begin to pick just one) you get a [[e2:crackpot]] of stunning proportions that postulates a vast conspiracy of (I think) Jews to keep Gene downtrodden.
