The dynamic duo…

I just finished setting up six or so websites. The most notable of them for this purpose is The Grey Book, a project whose purpose is obvious when you go to the site itself. Others are for various clients and internal use. What I wish to point out specifically are the two tools that made this rapid expansion possible.

  • WordPress – this thing rocks! It is an almost flawless blogging tool and small site CMS. I wouldn’t really use it to manage a big corporate site, but for something under 20 pages or so with a weblog on it? Golden. The installation is particularly commendable. Works on Windows or Linux well.
  • MediaWiki – it’s a bit of a beast to configure, but there is power to spare under the hood and the installation is trivial. Well worth your time if you want a good Wiki system.
