Here’s what happened…
- Michelin shipped some tires to a F-1 race at Indy that were inadequate
for the track - After noticing this, they asked if they could swap the tires
- The rules makers said "no" and threatened to impose a huge penalty
- Instead of paying the penalty AND losing (the new tires would not have
been competitive), the drivers decided not to race - Hilarity ensues…
