I don’t have qualms about modeling, porn, or prostitution when it is done in a safe and empowering state for women (and more importantly by women, women controlled.. I do though have problems with the institution of the ‘Beauty Pageant’ that pits woman against woman to find out who is the prettiest by standards that are not only racist, and classist, but stopped around 1950. Talents, and college essays aside these young women are judged by their looks in a race to the bottom that honors only the most (is it a surprise that the two pictured are both thin, blonde, and wearing makeup?) ‘traditional’ otherwise I doubt being a certified sky diver would make the list.
