Some changes in the. I put in the awesome “Cat2Tag” plugin for WordPress online and ripped out the one I had been using. Why? The old one was nice but didn’t integrate into the mainline WordPress code as well as I liked. Cat2Tag kicks ass in a few ways… By repurposing the categories system that…

Ok, I am crazy. I know it, you know it. Every now and then, however, I find a hint that I am not alone in my delusions. "Ditto on that. We have a Snow (500 MHz G3) and an 800 MHz Flat Panel (15") and they’ve just sat together running without hitches for years. Haven’t…

Snippets from a WordPress plugin I am working on… I spent a little time hacking on this to get used to the structure. It’s pretty sweet and thanks to the "Writing a Plugin" page it isn’t even crazy hard. Here is a step by step breakdown of an actual, functioning (but lame) plugin called "MyPlugin".

I put in Jerome’s Keywords as my tagging extension for now. I don’t know if this is the last word on the subject (I doubt it) but it is cool, and it works right now. It stores the stuff as a "keyword" meta data field as per the WordPress convention so it should be easy…

There is a NewsForge article up that claims the only way to have a reliable desktop for your friends and family is to switch them to Linux. The conclude this because the author of the article apparently has the Windows admin skills of a small puppy. Like so many such advocates (spelled z-e-a-l-o-t) the author…

So far, so good. There is a lot of flexibility here in WordPress. The next steps for me? Get “tagging” together. There are some plug-ins that handle this already, but I might hack one together. (update) I need a plug-in that allows me to mass move posts from one category to another, to consolidate some…

Ok, it looks like I may be able to avoid writing a theme from scratch for now. I really like Rin and have begun to modify it for my purposes. There are some glitches… I made it 800 pixels wide so not everything fits perfectly… but it’s getting there.
