A long time ago Kimiko got me a Leatherman Multi-Tool as a gift and it has been at my side ever since. There are some things abou it that I would change but I hadn&#8217;t seriously considered replacing it. It is awesome.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, the thread brought me to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.equipped.com\/lm_charge-wave.htm\">great review<\/a> of the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leatherman.com\/\">Leatherman<\/a> offerings. While the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leatherman.com\/products\/tools\/wave-(2004)\/default.asp\">Wave<\/a> initially caught my eye it is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leatherman.com\/products\/tools\/charge-Ti\/default.asp\">Charge Ti<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leatherman.com\/products\/tools\/charge-XTi\/default.asp\">XTi<\/a> that have my lust. I am having a hard time picking a favorite between them. As a bonus the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leatherman.com\/products\/tools\/tool-adapters\/default.asp\">tool adapter I already own<\/a> will fit nicely.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The XTi has two bit holders, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.equipped.com\/pp\/pic1411.htm\">nice strap cutter<\/a> on the back of the saw<\/li>\n<li>The XTi has a crimper in&nbsp;the pliers<\/li>\n<li>The Ti pliers have more gripping surface<\/li>\n<li>The Ti has scissors and a solid flat bladed screw driver in addition to one bit holder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The scissors I won&#8217;t miss, and the strap \/ rope cutter seems like a very good idea in my life. The second bit holder is nice, but I will miss a nice heavy small flat piece of metal to jam, twist, chisel and pry with. Now that I type that, I think I am leaning to the Ti&#8230;. that pry bar is something I have used a lot &#8211; and the interchangeable bits means it&#8217;s OK if I only have one. Then again, that solid driver blade has been a problem on the past.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<i>update: I changed my mind, I much prefer the XTi.
