Both are from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0451191145\/\">Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand<\/a>. Emphasis is mine.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i>&#8220;The black dress seemed excessively revealing&mdash;because it was astonishing to discover that the lines of her shoulder were fragile and beautiful, and that the diamond band on the wrist of her naked arm gave her <b>the most feminine of all aspects: the look of being chained<\/b>.&#8221; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0451191145\/\">Atlas Shrugged<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; and &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;She seemed to be a woman who expected and deserved a pedestal; this made him want to drag her down to his bed. <b>To drag her down, were the words in his mind; they gave him a dark pleasure<\/b>, the sense of a victory worth winning.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>He could not understand why&mdash;he thought it was an obscene conflict, the sign of some secret depravity within him&mdash;why he felt, at the same time, a profound pride at the thought of granting to a woman the title of his wife.
