It&#8217;s sick, twisted, bad, <strike>hot as hell<\/strike> and needs to be stopped. Fortunately, the feminists are leading the way. Women willingly participate, act like and feel like they want to do both, both have erotic power for the women but both are very much tied to domination\/submission that is erotisized. I dont know, I feel like SM just makes the dynamic really obvious and overt where in &#8220;normal&#8221; het sexual interactions its much more covert and the dynamic is not even labled as domination\/submission (sometimes it is but often not) but called something like &#8220;natural male and female behavior&#8221; or &#8220;mens and womens nature&#8221;&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"\/\/\/sh_external\">quote in context<\/a><\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Not so with SM. SM practitioners KNOW they are participating in dominance and submission, they celebrate it, and they are political activists on behalf of it, including as a &#8220;lifestyle.&#8221;. They think it&#8217;s great, just fine, including for feminists. Their consciousnesses have been raised all right as to dominance and submission, and contra everything feminism stands for or ever stood for, they are embracing dominance and submission and advocating for it.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;As the saying goes, you can&#8217;t stop the birds from flying overhead, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair. I think the difference between viewing SM as a good thing and entering into it volitionally &#8212; no matter WHY you do it, whether you think it&#8217;s transgressive or cathartic or fun or fantasy or healing or liberating or empowering or godly or righteous or obedient to scripture or your role as godly religious people or whatever &#8212; and participating in it in a way that is not mindfull, that is a result of living under male supremacy, is a big and important difference. In the one case you have, again, people dedicated to seeing to it that dominance and submission in relationships and sexuality continue.
