I put in the awesome &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.agkamai.com\/archives\/404\/cat2tag-release\/\">Cat2Tag<\/a>&#8221; plugin for WordPress online and ripped out the <a href=\"\/items\/date\/2005\/05\/02\/tags-plugi-in-installed\/\">one I had been using<\/a>. Why? The <a href=\"http:\/\/vapourtrails.ca\/wp-keywords\">old one<\/a> was nice but didn&#8217;t integrate into the mainline WordPress code as well as I liked. Cat2Tag kicks ass in a few ways&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By repurposing the categories system that is built in for tags no changes to the way WP &#8220;thinks&#8221; of a post have been made.<\/li>\n<li>A wide range of plugins are available for handling the built in category system, all those are totally usable now.<\/li>\n<li>When I migrate away from WordPress (and someday I will) my data structure is still nice and bog standard.<\/li>\n<li>The normal category management tools in the admin interface work &#8220;for free&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Third party posting tools (like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blogjet.com\/\">Blogjet<\/a>) work fine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So there you go for now.
