Today has been a day that has seen some interesting developments in freaky-victim world. This current series of comments is directed to the topic of rape and the total and complete hypocrisy it brings up on the topic of personal responsibility to these people.

  1. On the one hand, they hold that regardless of how risky the behavior you engage in is the final responsibility for any violence or assault done to you rests firmly upon the person who perpetrates it. Under no circumstances, the chant goes, is the victim ever to blame.

  2. On the other hand they usually dismiss the acts of terrorists and some “battered women syndrome” sufferers as being brought on or the fault of their “oppressors” or the US government. In other words, blame the victim.

It’s stupid, and it makes no sense unless you look at it this way – they don’t actually have ideals or logic, they just want to justify anything that makes them feel morally superior.

Some links that point out the problem. Now, don’t get me wrong I am not one of the “all women want it, all women are whores for men to use” folks. Read the comments, read the responses and see just how – hidden among the really justified outrage – is the total insanity of how thoroughly some of their “logic” fails and how important it is to them to make sure they are always victims.
